The Journey Through Time

From ancient wisdom to the future.

1. Oral Tradition (Pre-history)

Before writing, knowledge traveled through stories and practice. Learning was social, embedded in daily life, but bound by memory and physical presence.

2. The Scribe (3000 BC)

With Sumerians and Egyptians, knowledge could be 'frozen'. The first schools appeared to train scribes, but education remained exclusive to elites and administration.

3. The Academy (387 BC)

In Greece, Plato founded the Academy. Focus shifted from rote memorization to critical thinking vs Socratic dialogue. The philosophical 'curriculum' was born.

4. House of Wisdom (800s)

In Baghdad, scholars gathered knowledge from all civilizations. The scientific method took root, and learning became global, multilingual, and discovery-driven.

5. The First Universities (1088)

From Al-Qarawiyyin to Bologna, institutions began granting degrees. Education became structured, professionalized, and protected, paving the way for specialization.

6. The Printing Press (1440)

Gutenberg made books cheap. Knowledge exploded beyond academic walls. Self-directed learning became possible on a mass scale for the first time.

7. The Factory Model (1800s)

To serve the industrial age, education was standardized. Rows, bells, and tests. Highly efficient for scale, but it often ignored individual differences.

8. Educational Psychology (1900s)

We began understanding *how* we learn. Montessori, Dewey, Bloom. A shift from 'what to teach' to 'nurturing the child's mind'.

9. The Digital Age (2000s)

Internet, Wikipedia, MOOCs. Access became free and instant. The challenge shifted from 'access' to 'attention' and 'application'.

10. The Agentic Era (Now)

Return of the 'Personal Tutor', for everyone. An intelligent agent that knows you, adapts, and grows with you. Industrial scale meets human personalization.
